Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig to appear on Broadway??? Talks CONFIRMED!!!

E! Online has confirmed that Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig are in talks to star in Harold Pinter's Betrayal on Broadway.

"We're absolutely hoping to," Weisz told me while promoting her upcoming fantasy action flick Oz the Great and Powerful, adding, "We're in negotiations. I want to very much."
The play follows an affair between the wife of a publisher and his best friend, a literary agent. The story is told in reverse with the play beginning five years after the affair has ended. It's a fascinating play and I encourage you to read it!

Now who should play Jerry (the best friend)??? My dreamcast would be a reunion with Craig's A Steady Rain partner, Hugh Jackman! Your pick?

My excitement is reaching a peak; I hope this really does happen.

My 2013 Oscar Ballot

As Sunday approaches, my excitement soars! The Academy Awards, though not what they used to be, are still one of my favourite events of the year. So, as I do every year, I filled out my ballot.  Now, this is how I think it'll play out, not how I want it to play out. I've gone back and forth on most of these categories but now I'm set.

New Show Alert: A STARZ Original Series 'Da Vinci's Demons'!!!

One TV series premiere I am eagerly awaiting is STARZ' Original Series, Da Vinci's Demons on April 12th! It features an incredible cast: Tom Riley, Laura Haddock, Blake Ritson, Elliot Cowan, Lara Pulver and many more.

One of the main reasons I am thrilled for this show is the wonderful cast.  I became a fan of the lead, Tom Riley (Leonardo Da Vinci) when he played Mr. Wickham on ITV's Lost in Austen miniseries. And when he came to New York to be on Broadway in a revival of Tom Stoppard's Arcadia, I went many [MANY] times to see the show and he was definitely one of the highlights of the show. Incredible actor!  He is also a delightful presence on twitter (@thisisTomRiley)!

Peter Dinklage joins X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST!!!

Ahhh! Such exciting news hitting the interwebs tonight! The incredible Peter Dinklage has joined the extraordinary cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past!!!

He's brilliant in Game of Thrones and I'm trhilled he'll be joining Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Ellen Page, Jennifer Lawrence...I could keep going! It's an amazing group of actors and it's starting like this could be a film of Avenger-like proportions! The film will be helmed by Bryan Singer who tweeted the news earlier this evening.

Singer previously directed the first X-Men film (2000) and it's sequel, X2 (2003) in addition to being an executive producer on the film and continued as a producer on the prequel, X-Men: First Class (2011).

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is set for a July 2014 release.

The Final Curtain Call for Broadway's The Heiress starring Jessica Chastain & Dan Stevens

I was lucky enough to attend the final performance of The Heiress on Broadway starring Jessica Chastain, Dan Stevens and David Strathairn. It was a wonderful show that I was lucky enough to have seen on multiple occasions. Here's an extremely short video of the final curtain call, just before Ms. Chastain flew off to London to attend the BAFTAs the following afternoon!

My Most Anticipated Films of 2013

So many films I've been excited about are to be released this year! I decided to put together a list, one which ended up much longer than I had assumed it'd be. My top 15 films of 2013, as of today. Hopefully none of these will be bumped to a later date but it's always possible! Which of these are you excited about?

Iron Man 3 - Um, DUH. It's the return of the cockiest, sexiest, richest super hero. Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pierce, SHANE BLACK. I only wish they were going to be joined by Jessica Chastain and Val Kilmer (damn those rumours, stuck in my head forever)! (May 3rd)

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3″ pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. Much Ado About Nothing - It's Shakespeare. It's Joss Whedon. What a combo. And another film with an incredibly talented and remarkable cast...I couldn't ask for more. FILLION! <3 (June 7 Limited Release)

Filmed in just 12 days entirely on location in exotic Santa Monica, the film features a stellar cast of beloved (or soon to be beloved) actors – some of them veterans of Shakespearean theater, some completely new to the form.  But all dedicated to the idea that this story bears retelling, that this dialogue is as fresh and intoxicating as any being written, and that the joy of working on a passion project surrounded by dear friends, admired colleagues and an atmosphere of unabashed rapture far outweighs their hilariously miniature paychecks.

Star Trek Into Darkness - After J.J. Abram's first awesome film of the glorious Star Trek reboot, filled with alternate universes and lens flares, the second, with the always brilliant Benedict Cumberbatch joining in on the fun, how could anyone NOT want to see it...? (May 17)

After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

Inside Llewyn Davis - Oscar Isaac. Enough said. If you don't know who he is (and why not?!?!), you will after this! (Dec 4 Belgium)

A singer-songwriter navigates New York's folk music scene during the 1960s.

Ender's Game - This was my favourite novel as a child. I've waited for this film for so long, and now it's finally here. I hope it does the books justice. (November 1)

70 years after a horrific alien war, an unusually gifted child is sent to an advanced military school in space to prepare for a future invasion.

Man of Steel - Superman was my childhood hero. I didn't hate Superman Returns as much as everyone else seemed to but I am overjoyed at the new revamp. (May 17)

A young journalist raised by his adoptive parents after he was transported to Earth in infancy from the dying planet of Krypton finds himself in the position to save humankind after Earth is attacked.

Gravity - Alfonso Cuarón directing George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. In Space. I can't wait. (October 4)

Astronauts attempt to return to earth after debris crashes into their space shuttle, leaving them drifting alone in space.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues - The return of Ron, Brick, Brian, Champ and Veronica. Hilarity will ensue. Honestly, I can't wait to see Steve Carell back as Brick Tamland. And now they'll be joined by Kristen Wiig. Doesn't get much better. (December 20)

The continuing on-set adventures of San Diego's top rated newsman.

The Monuments Men - This cast. No comparison. Daniel Craig, George Clooney, Hugh Bonneville. And those are just three in the cast. Add Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon Jean Dujardin, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Bob Balaban...???? Plus, it's a fantastic story! I cannot wait.

NOTE: Now that Daniel Craig is not involved in the project, this falls lower on my list. :( (December 18)

In a race against time, a crew of art historians and museum curators unite to recover renown works of art stolen by Nazis before Hitler destroys them.

Saving Mr. Banks - This synopsis just gets me: "Author P.L. Travers travels from London to Hollywood as Walt Disney Pictures adapts her novel Mary Poppins for the big screen." (December 20)

Elysium - The mystery and intrigue of not having a full picture of what the film is about. It worked for Neill Blomkamp the first time around, I think it'll work again. It's going to be exciting! (August 9)

“Set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, Max (Matt Damon) takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.”

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters - I loved the first film (and the book series). Plus Nathan Fillion is in this one. That should be enough. (August 16)

In order to restore their dying safe haven, the son of Poseidon and his friends head into the Sea of Monsters to find the mythical Golden Fleece.

42 - Jackie Robinson, one of the greatest ballplayers to ever play and the man who broke the colour barrier in Major League Baseball. Has a great cast including Harrison Ford, Alan Tudyk and Christopher Meloni.  (April 12)

The life story of Jackie Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - The second film based upon the second book in The Hunger Games Trilogy. This is definitely my favourite of the three. (November 22)

The life story of Jackie Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey.

The Great Gatsby - Baz Luhrmann is one of my absolute favourite directors and somewhat of a hero of mine. He's finally releasing another film. I'm thrilled! I may be one of the few that have loved pretty much everything he's done, I saw Australia too many times to count in theatres, so my excitement about his involvement exceeds anything else about the film. (May 10)

Nick Carraway, a Midwesterner now living on Long Island, finds himself fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. He is drawn into Gatsby's circle, becoming a witness to obsession and tragedy.

Honorable Mentions:

Oz: The Great And Powerful - Even though I'm not a huge fan of Mr. Franco, the film looks beautiful and exciting. And I love the ladies in it! (Mar 8)

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - More adventures with the gorgeous dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf! And I think Benedict Cumberbatch needs to voice characters in every film. (December 13)

Thor: The Dark World - The Norse god is back! As is his beautiful yet misunderstood/evil brother,  the rest of his awesome family and his lovely, multi cultured friends. Fresh off of his jaunt with The Avengers, I'm ready for more Thor-goodness. AND CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON. (November 8)

Paranoia - "An entry-level employee at a powerful corporation finds himself occupying a corner office, but at a dangerous price: he must spy on his boss's old mentor to secure for him a multi-billion dollar advantage." (October 4)

Pacific Rim The panel at last years SDCC was FANTASTIC; Visually stunning and full of awesomeness. (July 12)

Prisoners (September 20) & The Wolverine (July 26) - Two of Hugh Jackman's films. Of course I can't wait! I hope they're as brilliant as he is!

Additions:
I'm not sure if these films will be released in 2013 but never-the-less, I'm sooo excited about them. The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her and Him would be in my top fifteen if I was sure of their release date!

The Disappearance of Elenor Rigby: Him & Her - This double feature stars James McAvoy and my absoulte favourite female actor, Jessica Chastain as husband and wife. Whats unique is that it's the same story told in both films, but each through the eyes of one spouse. It's such an intriguing idea and I truly look forward to seeing how they play out. And you can never have enough Jessica Chastain!

The love story explores a New York City couple's relationship during a difficult time in their marriage, from the different perspective of the husband, (McAvoy), a restaurant owner, and of the wife (Chastain), who goes back to college.

Are you as excited as I am???

DANIEL CRAIG and RACHEL WEISZ to star on Broadway TOGETHER?!?!?! Yes please!

According to a report in the Daily Mail:
Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are in closely guarded negotiations to heat up Broadway in a play about a wife cuckolding her husband.
The talks centre on the couple appearing together this autumn in Betrayal, Harold Pinter’s 1978 cool dissection of deceit.
I've been DYING to see Rachel Weisz on stage since my good friend over at Tapeworthy RAVED about her Donmar appearance as Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire to the point I still regret not making the trip to see it; I love both Weisz and Elliot Cowan.

And we all now how much I love Daniel Craig. Or you should by now.

Seriously though, this NEEDS to happen. I won't be able to go week after week as I did with A Steady Rain (I miss my boys!) but I would still try to go as often as possible. I'm planning on reading Betrayal this weekend. Can't wait. Especially after the description the article author describes the play: **spoilers ahead**
